Northern Florida and Southeast EWGA Semi-final
Winners Advance to Final Round in Largest U.S.
Amateur Women's Golf Competition


The EWGA semi-final championship for the Northern Florida and Southeast area of the Executive Women's Golf  Association was held on Saturday, July 19 at the Limestone Springs Golf Clubin Oneonta, Alabama. The first place gross and net winners in each flight advance to the final round of the EWGA Championship presented by Callaway
Golf, considered the largest amateur women's golf competition in the United States.

Sudden death playoffs determined the low gross winner of the Championship  flight, Lori Whitaker of Cumming, Georgia and the second flight low gross  winner, Karen Raudsep of Atlantic Beach, Fla.

The 36-hole championship finals will be held at The Reserve Vineyards and  Golf Club in Aloha, Oregon on September 26 -27, 2008. Now in its 13th year,  this annual nationwide competition had 2447 participants in 2007.

The EWGA Championship begins at the chapter level with members competing in individual stoke play in five flights based on USGA handicaps and a scramble team competition. First place low gross and low net winners in eachflight and the winning scramble team advance to one of the 15 semi-final competitions held throughout the United States. 

The eight EWGA chapters represented in the Northern Florida and Southeast area include Atlanta, GA; Augusta, GA; Greater Baton Rouge, LA; Birmingham, AL; Daytona Beach, FL; Huntsville, AL; Jacksonville, FL; and Orlando, FL.
