![]() | Foundation For Recovery, a 501(c) 3 nonprofit based in Las Vegas, will host its second annual Charity Golf Tournament at TPC Las Vegas on Saturday, September 27, 2008. The Tournament begins at 7:30 am with shotgun start and will include a silent auction, banquet luncheon, and award ceremony held in the Grille at the TPC Las Vegas clubhouse. Prizes will be awarded to the first, second, and third place teams, as well as for the longest drive, closest-to- the-pin, and longest putt. |
| The winner of the "Hole-In-One" challenge will drive away in a gorgeously restored 1962 red Chevrolet Corvette convertible. Sponsorship opportunities include Platinum ($10,000), Gold ($7,500), and Silver ($5,000) categories, tee sign ($500), and golf play ($300 per person or $1,200 for a foursome). Contributions are tax-deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law. Individuals and corporations are encouraged to participate at all levels proceeds from this event will help the Foundation in its mission to make advocacy, awareness, research and scholarships available for addiction recovery programs in our community. The Foundation seeks through its various initiatives and programs to remove psychosocial barriers and to ensure any addict needing recovery finds recovery. The Foundation is dedicated to promoting recovery from addiction through diverse initiatives and activities including research, community and family education and outreach, scholarships for scholarly studies and professional treatment services and advocacy. In 2008 the Foundation Accomplishments: - Supported Green Valley High School's random drug-testing for its athletic student body with a $5,000 grant. - Funded UNLV academic scholarships in Addiction Studies for three graduate students and one under-graduate student. - Funded one detoxification treatment episode for an Addiction Treatment Scholarship Fund applicant who lacked sufficient financial resources. - Chosen as the Nevada affiliate of The Partnership for a Drug-Free America to work on a statewide campaign to provide expansive drug prevention and recovery programs.
